Finding the Right Provider

Finding the right NDIS provider can be a challenge, especially if you don’t have a support coordinator or you want to save your support coordinator hours and look for providers yourself.

So where do you start?

If you’re a Purple Leopard member you can just call us. We’re staffed with very experience people all of whom either have and NDIS plan themselves or are caring for someone who does. We’re always happy to have a chat and sharer our experience and knowledge… free of charge.

Here are some other good places to help with your search;

NDIS Provider Tool

If you’re not already aware the NDIS has a provider Finder tool. It can help connect you with providers in your area.

Provider Directory sites such as My REQUEST Hub

https://www.myrequest.com.au

There are many of these types of sights out there such as my provider directory and MyCareSpace. A quick google should pull up dozens however My Request hub is one of our favourites.

They work in a different way to some sites out there. With this one you pay a small fee which can in most cases be invoiced under a NDIS plan.

With some other provider finder sites, providers have to pay a fee to list on there. Sometimes this fee is very costly so what you can find is that mostly only the larger providers can afford to list their details so you can miss out on accessing some very fine smaller providers. With my request hub providers can list their services for free.

Expos

Disability service expos can be a great way to talk with many providers in the one convenient place. There are many throughout the year that you can find with a quick Google however one of our favourites is “Source Kids”. Their expos are quite large and tend to have a fantastic variety of providers large and small.

Word of Mouth from other providers

If you already use providers often, they will be happy to recommend other providers to you. This can be a great source often your regular provider will have a good knowledge of other providers and their suitability for your needs.

Facebook Groups

There are Countless NDIS Facebook groups out there. Most can be an invaluable resource. If you post a question asking for recommendation often you’ll get 20 replies back very quickly. A word of caution to do your own research. What works for some isn’t right for everyone.
