July NDIS Price Increases

The NDIS has announced some changed to price limits from July 1

Below is some information and some links so that you can explore these changes further.

Most of the changes centre around increases to price limits of around 9% for support workers.

There are a few important points to consider when reading this information.

The increases are to maximum price limits.. not to the actual fees that support workers charge. All NDIS plans have been increased to cover the maximum price increase.

As a participant or carer of a participant you're not bound to accept any increases of what your support workers charge. The discretion is yours whether you want to agree to any increases.

Any increases to hourly rates by support workers should be first discussed and agreed to (preferably in writing) by participants or carers prior to any invoicing with higher hourly rates.

Should I offer or agree to an hourly rate increase?

Everyone's situation is different. Some things to consider when making that decision are:

How valued is the support worker?

Could you afford to lose them if they will leave unless the hourly rate is increased?

How long has the support worker been with you?

It's also worth remembering that the cost of living pressures at the moment also affect support workers and a small increase would be appreciated.

We've always found that particularly with a support worker who has been with us for a while when we have a proactive conversation and offer to agree to a rise in hourly rate they're usually very appreciative.
